Services, costs & insurance

When using viamon technology, it can be assumed that the investment costs for security technology and perimeter protection are the same, but more effective or lower compared to conventional approaches. This applies to existing systems and, in particular, to systems in the planning stage. The operating costs are also lower than for conventional systems, as the viamon system is maintenance-free and generates almost no false alarms (see below). Every system is individual and so are your requirements. Please contact us and we will be happy to make you an offer.

The security concept is usually agreed together with the insurance company. This is taken into account when calculating the insurance policy. Depending on the insurer and the system, the premium and/or deductible may be reduced in the event of a claim.

Installation

Our technology can already be used during the construction phase and thus protects your system against theft and vandalism while it is still being built. Once the construction work has been completed, the system is seamlessly integrated into ongoing operations and customized as standard without any major effort. As security experts, we remain at your side afterwards with support, further development and reliable support.

Retrofitting existing systems is no problem. As no earthworks are required, installation is possible all year round and anywhere.

All our junction boxes comply with the IEC 61215:2005 and IEC 61646:2008 type certifications. In addition, our sensors withstand the steam heat test (+85 °C and 85 % humidity) for at least 3000 hours during operation instead of the 1000 hours specified in the standard.

We carry out the conversion ourselves with our unique service vehicle. If you are interested in doing this yourself, please contact info@viamon.com.

General information

Our system can be used worldwide. Our main partner for data transmission is Deutsche Telekom. We cover 198 countries around the world with 426 roaming networks via their network. Transmission with other network operators is also possible.

False alarms are alarms that are the result of the system being triggered incorrectly. A good security system should be set up in such a way that operational management is not disturbed and valid theft detection is guaranteed at the same time. Every faulty alarm has 2 negative consequences: Unnecessary costs are incurred (by the security control center, by the alarm tracking system, possibly by the police). Future alarms are no longer taken seriously and are therefore not followed up. The alarm threshold is lowered further, thus weakening the system (Aesop describes this phenomenon in his fable “The Shepherd Boy and the Wolf”).

The viamon system generates almost no false alarms. This keeps the running costs for operating the entire system as low as possible. At the same time, the system retains its informative value and therefore every alarm remains valid. Many common security systems (surveillance cameras, fiber optics, impact sound mats, etc.) cannot detect theft without human assistance. For example, a camera system cannot distinguish a walker from a thief.

Insurance companies assume that all items weighing up to 150 kg are considered potential stolen property.  Our system is versatile. It is suitable wherever critical infrastructure, high-value components or sensitive areas need to be reliably secured. These include photovoltaic systems, railroad lines, cable routes, energy and industrial facilities, logistics areas and mobile assets.
